Filming for Aerie, the model was proud to to flaunt her hour-glass shape, insisting: “Not being retouched… is very important to me.
She says: ‘There’s nothing exercise and eating REAL food won’t do. no grapefruit diet or shake etc. all that does is make it harder to stick with.’
“People knowing that that’s what I look like, without anybody’s perception of what my body needs to look like.”
And whilst she’s received overwhelming praise for her gorgeous new campaign for Aerie, Barbie still took to Twitter to silence any trolls.
She also said she preferred to called curvy because plus sized reminded her of oversized and “curvy is cuter”.
Speaking about their choice for curvy models in the campaigns, Jenny Altman, a brand representative for Aerie said: “They are still models, they’re still gorgeous, they just look a little more like the rest of us. We’re hoping to break the mould, we hope by embracing this that real girls everywhere will start to embrace their own beauty.”
